Resumé
19 december 2017 - Asker, Noorwegen
Back home for 6 days now and I think a résumé will help to digest our trip to New Zealand. We have been travelling on the roads there for more then 5500 km.
When I think in colours I see the North Island in light green shades and The Southern Island in dark green and shades of brown. On both Islands the golden yellow tone from the beaches, the yellow from the broom and the special blue shades from the lakes. The tones of white from the mountain tops and the stones from the river beds. The blue and pink from the lupins.
When I think in sound I hear birds singing were ever you are, the wind in the trees and the sound of rolling waves on the beaches.
When I think people I see friendly and relaxed Kiwis and people from all over the world who have made New Zealand there home. On the Northern Island you see and feel the Maori people and culture much more. It is a peaceful society were people have there doors unlocked and there hardly exist any crime rate. We had a taxi driver in Wellington who's 2 sons had studied criminology but no job to get, so they moved to South America!
People are asking does it look like Norway? No, we don't think so. But it reminded us in random order of England,Scotland, The Alps, Central Europe, France, Madeira and even a bit of Holland. South Afrika and the USA. But it is definitely a country of its own. The fjords were not deep enough to be compared with Norway. But to compare better may be we have to travel more in Norway? That could be our next goal.
A good way to close this log.
To our followers thank you for doing so, but the real reason is of course that we are forgetting so fast!
Leuk om een beetje mee op reis te zijn geweest,
